ATLANTA – Your eyes don’t deceive you when it comes to the 2019 New York Mets.
They have a nice homegrown, young core. Their starters can pitch rather well on certain days. Their offense has the potential to be lethal now and again.
They also have a horrendous bullpen. Their defense is equally as bad. They fail to do the little things right such as Wednesday when they ran into two outs in a 7-2 loss to the Braves at SunTrust Park, their 24th loss in their last 34 road games.
The Mets can do just enough on certain days to tease you into thinking they can contend, but, as Bill Parcells used to say, you are what your record says you are.
