ATLANTA -- Having been released by the Twins near the end of Spring Training, Anibal Sanchez didn't have much time to acquaint himself with the new teammates he gained after signing a Minor League deal with the Braves less than two weeks before Opening Day.
Yet approximately a week into the regular season, Sanchez had seen enough to tell Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos his team had a chance to be a winner this year.
One day after clinching the National League East, the Braves returned to SunTrust Park on Sunday afternoon and saw Sanchez impress yet again in a 2-1 win over the Phillies.
