When the Atlanta Braves were making their final preparations for Opening Day one of the last things on their mind was that they would have to begin the 2020 regular season without either of their starting catchers in Tyler Flowers and Travis d’Arnaud. That was however the situation they were thrust into after both started showing symptoms of COVID-19 earlier this week. That placed young catchers Alex Jackson and William Contreras directly into the fire.
Jackson was a first round pick of the Seattle Mariners back in 2014. The Braves acquired him via trade in November of 2016 and transitioned him back behind the plate.
