ATLANTA -- Freddie Freeman provided a powerful spark and Ozzie Albies delivered a crushing blow as the Braves saw two of their top All-Star candidates highlight a six-run sixth that provided a 7-2 lead over the Mets on Tuesday night at SunTrust Park.
Freeman began the uprising with a leadoff homer against Zack Wheeler and Albies capped the sixth inning when he greeted right-handed reliever Paul Sewald with a grand slam. The Braves' second baseman joins Boston's Xander Bogaerts, Cleveland's Michael Brantley and Houston's Josh Reddick as the only Major Leaguers with two grand slams this season.
