MILWAUKEE -- Ozzie Albies can now say Hank Aaron is the only Braves player to tally 50 extra bases sooner than he has in a season.
Albies increased his National League-leading extra-base hits total to 50 with the first-inning double he recorded Friday against the Brewers at Miller Park. The exciting second baseman's desire to turn an opposite-field hit to left field into a two-bagger drew a throw that allowed Ender Inciarte to score the game's first run.
Playing in his 87th game of the season, Albies joins Aaron and Darrell Evans as the only players in Braves history to have at least 50 extra-base hits before the All-Star break.
