Acuna, Freeman dominate as Braves sweep Phillies in doubleheader

They haven’t consistently produced like it throughout the season, but Freddie Freeman and Ronald Acuna are the Braves’ best players. They looked like their best selves Sunday.

The Braves swept the Phillies in a doubleheader at Citizens Bank Park, winning Game 1, 5-2, and Game 2, 8-0. Both games were seven innings in accordance with MLB rule changes for the 2020 season.

In game 2, Acuna and Freeman combined to go 7-for-8 with six RBIs. Acuna was 4-for-4 and hit two homers. It completed a three-homer day for the awakening All-Star, whose two-inning shot in game 1 sparked a five-run fifth that led to the Braves’ victory.
