ATLANTA -- When the Braves brought Adonis Garcia back from the disabled list last week, they gave him a chance to prove he deserved to stay in their starting lineup. But the third baseman will now miss at least the next 10 days with a different ailment.
Before Wednesday night's game against the Phillies, the Braves announced Garcia had been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a strained left ring finger. Outfielder Lane Adams was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill a bench spot.
Garcia felt discomfort when he took a swing during the ninth inning of Tuesday night's loss to the Phillies.
