2015 MLB Draft Results: Braves select Anthony Guardado with 89th pick

The Braves threw everyone a curveball with the 89th pick, selecting high school pitcher Anthony Guardado.

The Atlanta Braves added talented five players on Day 1 of the 2015 MLB Draft, and on Day 2, the organization will add a handful of additional prospects in an attempt to improve the farm system. With their first selection on Tuesday afternoon, the Braves chose high school right-hander Anthony Guardado with the 89th overall pick.

The selection of Guardado is in line with Atlanta's recent shift toward two-sport prospects, but in the same breath, the 17-year-old from California is certainly an off-the-radar selection.
