Freddie Freeman added his 12th home run of the year (third in two days) in the bottom of the second inning, and the Braves won their second straight game, and six out of their last seven.
Derek Lowe helped his own cause, hitting a bases-loaded, bases-clearing double down the third base line in the 4th, bringing the score to 4-0. Then he went out in the top of the 5th and almost relinquished the lead, giving up 2 and another in the 6th to make it 4-3.
Dan Uggla wouldn't let it stay like that, adding his 13th home run of the season. This 447 foot blast and earlier double, brought Dan Uggla to 2-2 on the day, with two walks. Could this be the turning of the tide. For the first time in a while, the Ugglometer has shown improvement!
Braves beat the Rockies 5-3. Rookie closer Craig Kimbrel got his 26th save of the season, tying Jonathan Papelbon's rookie record.
Tomorrow's 7:10 p.m. match up @ Turner Field: Braves' Jair Jurrjens (11-3 1.89 ERA) looks for his 12th win, battling against the Rockies' Aaron Cook (0-3 4.66 ERA). This match up looks like a good one for the Braves to get their third straight win.
