Wolves have revived their bid to sign Craig Dawson and made an offer to West Ham.
The 32-year old was open to returning to the Midlands area to be closer to family and saw a £5.25m move to Wolves fall down on deadline day last September.
West Ham manager David Moyes had reluctantly agreed to let the centre back go if he could find a replacement but when Southampton's Jan Bednarek, who had been targeted, opted to join Aston Villa instead, Dawson's move was called off.
