Leeds and Aston Villa are both keen on landing Bologna defender Filip Helander in January.
Leeds have been linked with the 24-year-old since the summer and now reports in Italy have suggested that Championship rivals Villa have also joined the race.
The Swede is highly rated in Italy and has played 12 times in Serie A already this season.
Helander is out of contract in 2019 and the Corriere di Bologna has revealed that he currently earns an annual salary of £220k, which is low for a player of his stature.
As such, it has been suggested that the centre-back may look for a fresh challenge and a more lucrative deal elsewhere.
