Tottenham midfielder Joshua Onomah is set to join Championship club Aston Villa on loan on Friday, sources have told ESPN FC.
Onomah played only 18 minutes of Premier League football in five short cameos last season and is behind at least four other players in his favoured central midfield role.
Coach Mauricio Pochettino has previously been unwilling to send Onomah out on loan despite interest from several Championship clubs last season and pleas from the 20-year-old, who said last month: "I have wanted to [go on loan], but I trust the gaffer."
Pochettino has previously said he prefers to keep the best young players at the club and only one who has been loaned out by him has ever played another competitive game for the club -- Filip Lesniak, who was released in May.
