Paul Clement is attempting to complete a deal to sign Jordan Ayew for Swansea with Neil Taylor possibly going the other way to Aston Villa as a makeweight.
Villa would expect cash on top before sanctioning Ayew's departure but Swansea are also willing to letting winger Modou Barrow leave as part of the transfer.
Taylor is understood to be open to moving to Villa, where he would be reunited with Wales teammate James Chester, but is also happy to fight for his place at Swansea.
The left-back, who has ruled out leaving the Liberty on loan for Sunderland, would provide competition for Jordan Amavi should a deal be agreed.
