A scan on Danny Ings' knee has shown no severe ligament damage following the challenge with Aston Villa's Ahmed Elmohamady on Sunday afternoon.
Ings is expected to be back at training sooner than expected after being replaced in the final five minutes of their 4-3 victory at Villa.
Ralph Hasenhuttl shared his concerns for the Southampton striker's future after the game, but according to The Telegraph, Ings has simply 'jarred' his knee, and sustained no significant damage to the joint.
The news will come as a relief to Southampton as Ings was their biggest attacking threat last season - scoring 22 times in the Premier League, with Jamie Vardy bagging 23 to pip him and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Golden Boot.
