The sacking of Gary Rowett by Birmingham City on Wednesday shocked British football, with many angry the club had decided to dispense with a promising young English boss.
Rowett had, by most measures, been a success at St Andrews, leading cash-strapped Birmingham from the Championship relegation zone to the verge of the play-offs.
However he was sacked with City seventh in the table, and joins the remarkable turnover of bosses seen in England's second tier in the second half of 2016.
Since the start of May, there have been an incredible 18 managerial changes in seven months - some have been sacked, some have resigned, others have left at the end of their contracts.
