Sheffield United striker Ched Evans could make his first league appearance since September in the home game against Aston Villa.
Evans stepped off the bench in Saturday's FA Cup win against Preston after recovering from an ankle injury and is hoping to feature again.
Recent signings Ricky Holmes, Lee Evans and Ryan Leonard, all ineligible to face Preston, will return to contention while Billy Sharp is pushing for a recall after scoring Saturday's winner from the penalty spot.
Defender Kieron Freeman (knee) is still working his way back to full fitness and midfielder David Brooks is recovering from glandular fever.
