Schalke's Bundesliga 2 clash against Hansa Rostock on Sunday saw the first half last for a whopping 78 minutes.
Schalke - who were relegated from the Bundesliga last season as they continue to endure a torrid few years - have had a difficult start to life back in the second tier.
They have been closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table and picked up a crucial 2-0 victory over Hansa which pushed them two points clear of the relegation play-off spot.
However, the crunch clash - which was settled thanks to goals from Blendi Idrizi and Kenan Karaman - saw the first half play on for an astonishing 33 minutes extra.
