Crawley Town staff and supporters are shocked and divided following revelations that manager John Yems has been accused of racially abusing players, allegedly labelling some ‘suicide bomber’, ‘terrorist’ and ‘Zulu Warrior’.
As revealed by Sportsmail, Yems, 62, is suspended pending investigations into the claims, which were initially made to the Professional Footballers’ Association by a group of Crawley players.
The Reds assistant manager, Lewis Young, 32, the younger brother of Ashley, the Aston Villa full back, is now taking the team, which has suffered three straight defeats since the accusations surfaced.
