Reece James could be hit with a ban after being charged for confronting referee Jarred Gillett in the tunnel following Chelsea’s defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.
Captain James did not play in the 1-0 loss due to injury but was among a number of unavailable Chelsea players who were at Stamford Bridge and sat on the bench for the game.
And he is now in hot water for his post-match reaction after being accused by the FA of using ‘improper and/or insulting and/or abusive words and/or behaviour towards a match official in the tunnel after the game.
