Jonathan Kodjia's second-half strike condemned Queens Park Rangers to another defeat, as Aston Villa left Loftus Road 1-0 winners.
Ian Holloway's Hoops have now lost five Championship matches in a row since he won his first game in charge v Norwich City.
The result leaves them 19th in the Championship, just three points above the bottom three.
Kodjia, a summer signing from Bristol City, saw a first-half penalty saved by Rangers' Alex Smithies, before his low shot beat the goalkeeper on 75 minutes.
