Polish FA chief hints Steven Gerrard is NOT their top choice to be their new manager, despite Liverpool legend being a candidate, because they want international football experience

Polish Football Association chief Cezary Kulesza has hinted Steven Gerrard is not their top choice to be their new manager because they want international coaching experience.

Sportsmail reported earlier this month how the former Aston Villa and Rangers manager had emerged as a shock candidate to become Poland’s new head coach.

The 42-year-old is seen as a strong option to replace Czeslaw Michniewicz - who departed at the end of last year after his contract wasn't renewed following the World Cup - and Sportsmail understands he remains in contention with the process still ongoing.
