Two police officers could face criminal charges over the death of Dalian Atkinson.
The former Aston Villa and Ipswich star, 48, died in August 2016 after he was targeted by a police Taser outside his father’s house in Shropshire.
Following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), a file has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service, who will consider whether to take legal action.

The two police officers were involved in detaining Atkinson, prior to him being taken to hospital, where he later died.
A spokesman for the IOPC said the investigation had gathered evidence which indicates police used a Taser followed by a period of restraint and ‘other uses of force’.
