Matt Targett has sealed a move to Newcastle from Aston Villa after the Magpies triggered the option to sign him permanently.
The left-back had a successful loan spell at St James' Park during the second half of last season and he has now become a Newcastle player, for a fee of between £12m-£15m, Sportsmail understands.
Targett's future was thrown into doubt when Villa signed Lucas Digne from Everton for £25m last winter and Targett's departure will likely see Villa look for a younger understudy to Digne.
'I'm absolutely delighted to sign a four-year contract with this club,' Targett told the club's official website on Wednesday.
