Five-time League Cup winners Aston Villa make a first appearance in the first round in 44 years against League Two side Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
The Hatters are in buoyant mood after starting the new season on Saturday with a 3-0 win at last term's League Two play-off finalists Plymouth Argyle.
Luton are without defender Dan Potts, who was sent off late on at Home Park.
Villa boss Roberto di Matteo will make alterations following Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.
"Over the year, because of so many games, you need a squad and we will need to utilise that squad, so there's going to be a few changes," Di Matteo told BBC WM.
