Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has been dropped and fined by the club, boss Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed.
The 21-year-old was left out of Di Matteo's squad for their Sky Bet Championship game at home to Newcastle on Saturday following an investigation into his conduct.
Sportsmail exclusively revealed that Grealish was involved in a 'raucous' hotel room party following Aston Villa’s 0-0 draw at Ipswich Town, which saw balloons of 'hippy crack' or laughing gas being used before the police were called in the early hours.
Sources close to Grealish, who had to apologise to then Villa manager Tim Sherwood in 2015 after pictures emerged of him inhaling from balloons, admit the balloons were present at the party but they deny that Grealish inhaled from them.
