Gabby Agbonlahor believes Philippe Coutinho owes sacked Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard an apology for his performances since joining the club on a permanent basis.
Coutinho was seen as a shrewd signing by Gerrard when he joined Villa on loan from Barcelona in January and showed his quality in his early displays. The Brazilian scored on his debut against Manchester United and went on to net five goals in 19 appearances last season.
His impact was enough to see Villa make the move permanent in the summer, for a knockdown fee of £17million, and was seen as a key factor in the club's evolution.
