There was a friendly atmosphere in Birmingham as fans welcomed their counterparts from Bayern Munich ahead of Aston Villa's first Champions League home game since 1983.
Villa boss Unai Emery described it as a "special" occasion.
Speaking ahead of the game, Bayern Munich fan Christian said he hoped his side would win 2-1.
He said he wanted to see a Villa goal so he could experience the fans and stadium "explode".
Christian and fellow Bayern fan Klaus have followed the club across Europe, recently travelling to Copenhagen and Madrid.
The pair said that they liked the beer in Birmingham, but the beer in Munich "was the best".
