Tim Sherwood has hailed John Terry's signing as a real statement of intent by Aston Villa and a major boost in their bid for promotion.
After ending his glittering Chelsea career, Terry turned down numerous offers from the Premier League to sign a one-year contract with the Championship side on Monday.
Terry made just six league starts last season and will turn 37 later this year, but Sherwood insists he is still good enough to play at the top level and is expecting him to have a huge impact at Villa Park.
