Former Aston Villa boss and Arsenal midfielder Remi Garde has turned down a top job with the French Football Federation as he plots a route back into management.
The 50-year-old has been unemployed since leaving Villa 12 months ago following a disastrous 147-day spell in charge at the club, who were eventually relegated from the Premier League.
Of his 23 games in charge, Villa won just three times, with seven draws and 13 defeats, which left him with the lowest win percentage of any permanent manager in the club's history.
Since leaving England, Garde has been linked with a number of management positions but is so far yet to find a new job.
