Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin faces a spell out after suffering a facial injury, according to reports.

The forward was taken off against Aston Villa during the Toffees' 4-0 defeat at Villa Park after colliding with Emi Martinez in the first half.

The clash of heads left the striker with a sizeable welt on his face and he was forced off as a result.

It has now been reported by BBC Sport that the striker faces a spell on the sidelines.

They state that Calvert-Lewin has a bruised face and will now undergo further assessment with the club's medical staff this week
