Emiliano Martinez remains in talks with Aston Villa over his return to Premier League action after helping Argentina to World Cup glory.
The goalkeeper, who played a decisive role in the shoot-out victory over France in Qatar last Sunday, has been celebrating with his international colleagues in their homeland.
Martinez had been due to discuss a return date with boss Unai Emery in the aftermath of the Final and while Villa have yet to reveal whether he will be available against Liverpool on Boxing Day, sources in Argentina indicate that fixture will come too soon for the 30-year-old.
