Former Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has been appointed head coach of Major League Soccer club Charlotte FC.
Smith, 52, has signed a "multi-year" deal with the American club, six months after leaving relegated Leicester City where he was interim manager.
"Throughout the interview process, it was clear that this is an ambitious club with the right ingredients for success," said the former Norwich boss.
Charlotte have been in MLS for two seasons.
They have finished ninth in the Eastern Conference in both regular season campaigns.
