Dalian Atkinson will be remembered fondly by Aston Villa fans

Ask any non-Aston Villa fan what they remember of Dalian Atkinson, who died on Monday at the age of 48, and the answer is inevitable: That goal against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park. It was scored in October 1992 during the Premier League's first season and few goals since have eclipsed Atkinson's strike in terms of sheer technique, bravado and cheek.

Winning the ball midway inside Villa's half, Atkinson dribbled upfield -- part bulldozing, part skipping -- past two further challenges before pausing 25 yards from goal, looking up, picking his spot and nonchalantly chipping the goalkeeper.
