Dalian Atkinson always had a smile on his face, says Ron Atkinson as tributes pour in for ex-Aston Villa star's death

Former Aston Villa manager Ron Atkinson had led the tributes flooding in following the death of Dalian Atkinson.

The former Villa striker died around 90 minutes after he was Tasered by police before suffering a cardiac arrest during the early hours of Monday morning.

Atkinson enjoyed four years at Villa Park between 1991-95 in a career that included spells at Ipswich, Real Sociedad and Fenerbahce.

And Ron Atkinson who managed the forward at Villa, as well as Sheffield Wednesday during the 1989-90 season, hailed him as a popular and generous person.
