The Club Brugge fans who mocked Tyrone Mings for most of the evening will probably keep quiet when their side pitch up at Villa Park next week.
Last time he played at this stadium, Mings picked up the ball inside his own penalty area and effectively handed Brugge victory in the league phase in November. Four months later, he made two decisive contributions to put Aston Villa on the brink of the Champions League quarter-finals.
With the game barely two minutes old, Mings' header across goal created the opener for Leon Bailey.
