Bristol City are closing in on the capture of Henri Lansbury from Aston Villa.
Villa manager Dean Smith confirmed midfielder Lansbury is available and the Championship side are hopeful of landing the 30 year-old before Monday's deadline.
Ex-Arsenal youngster Lansbury joined Villa four years ago from Nottingham Forest and his contract runs out this summer.
This month represents Villa's last opportunity to get a transfer fee for Lansbury before he can leave for nothing though striking a loan deal for the remainder of his current contract is an option.
Lansbury made 10 appearances last season during Villa's ultimately successful bid to stay in the Premier League but was left out of Smith's squad this campaign and been restricted to three Carabao Cup appearances.
