Aston Villa have announced they will scrap their new club crest after just one season following a consultation with supporters where it was decided a fresh change was required.
The current circle crest was only adopted in the second-half of last season after it was voted in by fans to replace Villa's iconic shield design.
However, just six matches in to the new Premier League season, Villa have decided the new design isn't working and are now seeking a fresh design ahead of the club's 150th anniversary next year.
In a statement published on Tuesday afternoon, the Midlands-based outfit explained their reasons for the decision where they stated the circle emblem wasn't having the 'desired' impact.
