Aston Villa's leading scorer Jonathan Kodjia could be fit despite limping off against Burton on 8 April.
Fellow strikers Gabriel Agbonlahor (hamstring) and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy (ankle) remain out, alongside midfielder Birkir Bjanarson (knee).
Jordan Obita and Danzell Gravenberch will be pushing to start for Reading after injuries.
Paul McShane (calf), Joey van den Berg (hamstring) and Deniss Rakels (ankle) are all expected to be missing.
Reading manager Jaap Stam told BBC Radio Berkshire:
"It's never easy when you lose a game heavily (7-1 at Norwich on 8 April), but we need to go forward and there's no reason to dwell on it.
