Jacob Ramsey believes this England Under-21 side boast a modesty that will see them improve the country’s wretched record at the European Championship.
Despite regularly being labelled as favourites, five of the last six campaigns have ended in group stage exits, with a semi-final in 2017 acting as an outlier.
Aston Villa midfielder Ramsey, set for a central role in Lee Carsley’s set-up, is adamant this squad can buck the trend in Georgia and Romania when they kick off against Czech Republic on Thursday.
‘One thing that I will say about this group - when we've looked at previous groups before, and previous camps, there’s probably a different mentality,’ Ramsey said.
