Gary Walsh is set to follow Steve Bruce by leaving Hull to join Aston Villa as goalkeeping coach.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper had been initially reluctant to depart the KCOM but is believed to have had a change of heart and will join Bruce’s backroom team.
The pair played in the same United team in the early nineties under Sir Alex Ferguson and then spent four years working together at Hull until Bruce resigned in the summer.
Chris Woods, the West Ham United goalkeeping coach, had been an option for Villa as Walsh pondered the move.
