Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout is having his medical at Fiorentina ahead of his proposed £6million move to the Serie A side.
Veretout, 24, joined Villa in 2015 from Nantes for £7million but spent last season on loan at St Etienne.
The French club had hoped to re-sign Veretout on a permanent deal for £5million but Villa chairman Tony Xia said their offer fell short of what was originally agreed and that opened the door for Fiorentina.
The Frenchman spent only one season in the Villa first-team, making 25 appearances as they were relegated to the Championship from the Premier League.
