Unai Emery insists he would like Jhon Duran to stay at Aston Villa after he scored the winner against the club he was so desperate to join.
Duran was read the riot act by Emery after making clear on his social media channels last month that he wanted to join West Ham, who had shown an interest in signing the 20-year-old.
But the clubs could not agree a fee and 19 minutes after replacing Ollie Watkins, Duran scored the winner – before appearing to apologise to the Villa fans after he had celebrated.
