Steve Bruce has confirmed Aston Villa are interested in Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury, admitting they have made an enquiry.
The former Arsenal midfielder has just six months left on his current deal at the City Ground and is free to speak to other clubs during the January transfer window.
Bruce has money to spend after selling striker Rudy Gestede to Middlesbrough for £6m and the Villains have been strongly linked with a £3million move for Lansbury.
And after weeks of speculation, Bruce has revealed that the player is indeed a priority target.
