Birkir Bjarnason was among the scorers as Aston Villa overcame ten-man Reading to boost their hopes of securing a play-off spot.
Villa had to be patient to break down Reading, but their task was made considerably easier when the visitors were reduced to ten men on the half hour mark as David Edwards was dismissed for two bookable offences.
Bjarnason gave Villa the lead with a sweeping strike before Conor Hourihane and Scott Hogan also found the net.
