Ally McCoist made a bold claim after Tyrone Mings saved Aston Villa from conceding the second goal against Club Brugge on Tuesday.
The clash at Jan Breydelstadion started in the best way possible for Unai Emery's men after Leon Bailey gave the lead following a set-piece play in the third minute of the game.
However, with 0-1 on the scoresheet, Villa lost control of the match as the Belgian side's left back Maxim De Cuyper equalised in the 12th minute.
Club Bruges were close to netting another goal following a spectacular cross from Christos Tzolis on the left wing, followed by a confident strike by captain Hans Vanaken.
