Seven of our stars were in World Cup action on Friday and Saturday. Read on to find out how they fared for their respective countries.
Vivianne Miedema became Netherlands’ all-time leading scorer on Saturday after striking twice in a 3-1 win over Cameroon.
Our 22-year-old striker opened the scoring with a powerful header in the 41st minute, but less than two minutes later, Gabrielle Onguene equalised following a mix-up at the back.
Former Gunner Dominique Bloodworth then went on to restore Netherlands’ lead with a tap in, before Miedema stormed into the box and fired past Annete Ngo Ndom, breaking Manon Melis’ previous record (59) and sealing all three points.
