'We might as well retire, it won't get better than this!': From partying in a snooker hall, Liverpool giving the Gunners their champagne and an odd half-time team-talk, Alan Smith delivers the inside story on Arsenal's stunning 1989 last-gasp title triump

Arsenal legend Alan Smith has lifted the lid on how the Gunners achieved their stunning smash and grab of the first division title against overwhelming favourites Liverpool at Anfield in 1989.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Football Show on Thursday morning, Smith reflected on the mood in the Arsenal camp as they prepared to head to Anfield needing to win by two clear goals to get their hands on the league trophy.
