Arsenal’s senior team might be flagging on the pitch at the moment, but that doesn’t mean their youth sides are being afflicted by the same impotence.
In fact, their Under-18s are loving life right now.
The Gunners defeated Colchester United 5-1 on Tuesday night in the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals, to book a semi-final clash against either Blackburn or Blackpool.
And one of the goals came courtesy of Emile Smith Rowe, the 17-year-old midfielder who was part of England’s squad that won the Under-17 World Cup last year.
It was a free-kick worthy of Dimitri Payet and apparently inspired by Kevin De Bruyne, and it is well worth a watch.
