'Time to go home': Gabriel Jesus poses with crutches after undergoing successful surgery on knee injury sustained at the World Cup... with the Arsenal forward now set for an extended spell on the sidelines

Gabriel Jesus has posed with crutches after the Arsenal and Brazil forward underwent knee surgery, which threatens to rule the star out of action for an extended period.

Jesus limped off in Brazil's World Cup group stage defeat against Cameroon last Friday, with the injury quickly confirmed to have ended his hopes of featuring in the knock-out stage for the tournament favourites.

Premier League leaders Arsenal had been hopeful the injury may only rule Jesus out of action for a month.
