The records we broke against West Ham

Our 6-0 thrashing of West Ham United at the London Stadium had statisticians around the country scrambling through their archives to see just how big our achievement was - and they confirmed plenty of records tumbled on Sunday afternoon.

The standout one was that we registered our biggest-ever Premier League away win, surpassing the 6-1 triumph at Goodison Park on the opening day in 2009/10, when David Moyes was also in the opposition dugout, as well as the 6-1 win against Middlesbrough in April 1999.

In terms of all-time records, it also matches our biggest-ever margin of victory away from home, moving alongside 7-1 drubbings of Aston Villa and Wolves in the 1930s.
